Agave lophantha ‘Quadricolor’ is great in containers where it is easy to manage. Good in landscape borders, native plant gardens, rock gardens, cactus gardens, xeriscape or low barrier groundcover plantings. Tough spiny leaves, so take care to locate this plant away from foot traffic.

This species has a handsome hemispherical form with dark green leaves with a lighter green stripe down the center. A nice contrast to some of the silver blue agaves which take similar culture. The flower spike can reach 12 feet and has greenish-yellow flowers. Agave lophantha ‘Quadricolor’ prefers alkaline soils. It is related to Agave lechuguilla, differing from it by its flatter leaves and firmer leaf margins.
