Sedum rubrotinctum “Aurora” is  a gorgeous cultivar of the regular rubrotinctum and displays a variety of colors from pink into cream, depending on the time of year.

Also known as “Pink Jelly Beans”, this cultivar has a paler color than the regular variety. The leaves of Sedum rubrotinctum “Aurora” vary from pale greenish-yellow in summer to dark pinkish-red in winter. The best color is obtained with some direct sun and exposure to cold. Sedum rubrotinctum Aurora grows as a succulent-leaved rosette on elongating stems from 6 to 8 inches in length. New plants may be grown from leaves (or beans) that drop off or are separated from the stem and laid on the soil. In spring, it produces yellow flowers tinged with red.

This plant makes an interestingly-colored small-scale ground cover in xeriscape and rock gardens provided the soil is well-draining. It also is attractive in hanging baskets and draping over walls and in containers; even under planting large succulents in bigger containers.

Sedum rubrotinctum is poisonous and may cause irritation if ingested.
