wallichii blooms in summer with pretty tubular yellow flowers on longish stems. Like other tylecodons it is summer deciduous and goes dormant in the hottest weather.

When repotting Tylecodon wallichii do not plant the swollen stems too deep. Ensure the slender neck of the plant is just protruding above the soil with only the root underground. Most tylecodon species are poisonous, with cardiotoxic and cumulatively neurotoxic bufadienolides and need to be kept away from livestock and pets. Because of this many are removed from grazing habitats and are endangered in their native habitats.

Dry rock gardens, succulent plantings. Makes a very interesting plant for an exotic treelike succulent bonsai. Could be a nice specimen plant in stark modern architectural settings or in massed in front of a contrasting-colored wall where its interesting shape can be shown off.
