Aeonium urbicum ‘Fallbrook Ruby’ is related to the aeonium urbicum — a large clumping aeonium which with very large rosettes. It begins as an evergreen rosette and slowly develops a single, unbranched stem. Aeonium Fallbrook Ruby has red tinged leaves, and  blooms with a striking, pyramidal branched panicle of small white crassula-like flowers. Aeonium ‘Fallbrook Ruby’ is monocarpic and individual rosettes die after flowering, the  Aeonium ‘Fallbrook Ruby’ plant is prolific and produces many offsets plants.
Aeonium urbicum ‘Fallbrook Ruby’ works well in rock and succulent gardens, among flowing grasses, or in mass plantings with other aeoniums and Canary Island native plants like Echiums or our very own Aeonium canariense virgineum. Aeonium ‘Fallbrook Ruby’ is a hybrid aeonium plant and can work well as good vertical accent plant when grown with shorter succulents. It prefers the mild climate typical of the Canary Islands so it should be given shade in hot inland locations. Hybrid aeonium’s are very common especially because of their high reproduction rate. They often look their best in partiial shade. Similar to the Aeonium urbicum.

Origin: This plant is endemic to Tenerife,one of Spain’s Canary Islands where its distribution reaches from Anaga to Teno
Size Label: 1 gallon
Height: 4-6′

Cold Tolerance: 25 to 30°F; -3.9 to -1.1°C
Heat Tolerance: High heat tolerance
Light Requirement: Prefers some shade in warmer inland climates, but it can take full sun along the coast.
Water needs: Drought tolerant but looks best with regular watering in the warmer months. It can survive on winter rains in cool, winter weather.

Uses: This tall aeonium works well in rock and succulent gardens, among flowing grasses, or massed with other aeoniums and Canary Island native plants like Echiums. It is a good vertical accent plant when grown with shorter succulents. It prefers the mild climate typical of the Canary Islands so it should be given shade in hot inland locations.
Propagation: This plant can be propagated from seed. Seed can be collected in large plastic bag after the inflorescence has matured. Can also be propogated from cuttings.
Problems: Snails can damage leaves, requires well-draining soils to avoid rot in winter
