Aloe viguieri is an excellent drought tolerant small-scale aloe with a color more like some white dudleyas. It makes an attractive contrasting plant in rock gardens, succulent and cactus gardens and is useful in xeriscape plantings as well. Also works well as a succulent container plant.
Aloe viguieri is a small aloe that forms a single rosette of blue-green blushed white leaves that eventually form a slender stem to 3 feet. It grows in spring and summer and remains dormant in winter.
Older plants bloom in spring to summer with many branched racemes. The peach-orange colored flowers come when the plant is more mature. Aloe viguieri needs protection from hard frosts and requires very good drainage in cool weather weather.
This plant requires good drainage. It can be propagated from seeds or from division.

Light Requirement: Full sun along the coast to some shade inland.
Water needs: Drought tolerant, keep dry in winter when it is dormant.
Maintenance: Remove spent flower spikes as desired.
